Don't like slash, don't read... Thank you...
Rou sighed. He rubbed his servos together and clasped them to keep the bitter winds of Cybertron from freezing them. It was the fourth day of winter and yet a blanket of snow already covered this sector of Kaon. Even if the cold had begun early, Rou still enjoyed the peace and quiet that he hardly ever heard here in these parts. Everyone was hiding away from the cold, while very few others came out of their cooped up homes to embrace it.
A few younglings here and there, running around, chasing each other was enough to pull a smile from the always quiet Rou. He continued on his way with his peaceful afternoon walk, snuggling the lower half of his masked face into the red scarf he picked up from that kind, elderly femme that helped him with his vocal therapy back in Tarn. "ROU!" Rou immediately rolled his optics at the sprinting mech coming right at him, arms out and murderous for a hug.
The black and silver mech stepped out of the way of Blue, letting the small mech zoom right past him and into a pile of trash bags. Rou walked over and leaned down. "You bellowed
?" Blue smiled and jumped up. "Rou! Rou, Rou, Rou, Rou! Rou, Rou, Rou! Listen! LISTEN!" He grasped the taller mech's helm and pulled him to his chest, bouncing up and down. "What!?" Rou yelled. "I need to know what you want for the Winter Solstice next week!!" the little mech cried.
Rou pried his friend off his waist and looked down at the cyber-puppy optics behind the glowing visor. "Uhm
? I don't know
" Blue sagged his shoulders and whined. "No! Nah! We've done this before, Rou! I need to know, that you know what you want for you know what!" Rou rolled his optics again and Blue gave him a glare. "Fine
just get me a gift card to AutoZone and I'll be fine
" he said. "If I get a whole bunch of those I'll really be good
" he mused to himself. "Rou! It needs to come from the spark! I can't just get you a freaking gift card! That
! That's like buying someone new tires!" Rou snapped his fingers and pointed at Blue. "I need some more of those at the shop too
you're impossible, please just know that
" Rou laughed in his sarcastic ways. "You're funny!" Blue smiled a big smile and hugged his waist again. "Okay then! Later Rou!" he ran off. "Yeah, yeah
you damn adorable little gremlin
" He waved him off and continued walking and walking, really just needing to get away from the city, even if it meant going into the battle tattered, snow covered Wastelands on the outskirts of Kaon.
Rou cloaked his black armor into a silvery white, optic and armor lights color changing slightly into a mere greenish-blue, taking on its soft surroundings. He sat calmly against a piece of fallen building, himself not even knowing what once stood here in this rather vast area. Snow fell to his shoulders and on the boulder he leaned on, coating the area with another layer of the white, frozen condensation, tantalizing the mech more than it was really supposed to. All he did was watch and tilt his head in curiosity when a couple of snowflakes drifted on the tip of his mask.
The mech suddenly swatted the snowflakes away when a rough clicking noise alerted and awakened his sensory receptors to go off and tune his audios into a more sharper quality, letting him hear better. He squinted his optics and got up off the ground, placing a servo against the boulder. He looked around until he spotted an unleveled lump underneath the snow. With hesitation in mind, the mech walked toward it, servo on his holster and kneeling down.
He reached out to brush the snow away from the object underneath it, but a large, clawed servo swiped forcefully for him to get his servo away from the shaking figure. Rou stepped back some steps and looked at the servo from a distance, his overextended curiosity determined to find out what oddity lie beneath the snow. Rou's optics widened and jumped back behind the boulder, squeezing his optics shut and pressing his back against the concrete in back of him at what he realized.
The silver mech peeked around the boulder to see the object, now identified as an Insecticon, shift and shiver more than it did before, chirping and crying out desperately for his own kind's help. Rou realized it was smaller than most he had seen in his past, but no doubt less dangerous
he couldn't just leave it here
not with it crying like that
Rou gave a sigh and shivered himself as well, coming out from behind the boulder, once again walking hesitantly to the Insecticon. Primus, he wished he didn't have this phobia at the moment
He placed his servo over the other's large claw gently, showing that he meant no harm and also that he was willing to help due to the warmth felt. The Insecticon, moved a little and Rou gulped as he began brushing away the snow off its spiky back, careful not to cut himself with the sharp edges.
With servo still on the other's he reached its face, shivering at feeling the mandibles at the side of its head, leaving his fear to look down at the sorrow in the Insecticon's optics behind his blood red visor when he lifted its chin. He knew what it was like to be forgotten
It chirped to him desolately, making Rou sit down cross legged in the snow and run his servo over its antennas to calm it. It moved closer and set its chin on Rou's knee, clicking in pain when the silver mech touched a spot on his back that had been bleeding.
Since its wings were positioned there when it transformed, it was currently in a very vulnerable situation. Rou smiled softly as it clasped his servo, still speaking in its native language. "I hope you can walk
" Rou said in Kaonian, surprised when the Insecticon looked up as though he understood. "Your language is the traditional Kaonian
?" Rou asked it. It nodded and tried its best to raise itself off the ground, with Rou's help, the outcome was successful.
The Insecticon leaned down and took Rou's servos again to feel the warmth, not really bothered by the tense feeling in Rou's shoulders when he nuzzled his face into his neck. Rou on the other servo whimpered uncomfortably, not used to such contact
from anyone really
" the Insecticon whispered in his language. Some of Rou's tenseness slipped away at the somehow soft voice, usually expecting something gruff and deep from a creature like this one
but it was different.
After the Insecticon's rather awkward
but warm snuggling of the silver mech it rested it's forehelm against Rou's, a small bit of tenseness from the mech coming back, blushing under his mask as it did. The mech decided to speak up to end the affectionate invasion of his personal space, but otherwise smiled softly while talking to this abandoned Insecticon as they finally decided to move, Rou already thinking up a plan to get it into his shop which was his home.
How long were you here
?" he asked. The Insecticon looked down and hoisted up two claws, and Rou took it as two days. A silent moment passed and Rou just had this question that was scrambling his circuits about something that happened in his past about Insecticons. "I'm
quite hesitant to ask this question
are you Insecticons individuals
? You do what you're ordered to do by superiors, but think for yourselves
The Insecticon tilted his head in curiosity and smiled sweetly with corner fanged lips. "You ask funny questions
" he said. "But yes
we are individuals
though we act as one on occasions that need be
" he explained, surprising Rou with known English and his vocabulary was much advanced to others he'd heard speak. Rou smiled back, though not seen, and looked straight ahead as he spoke. "You speak English
" Rou said in a statement rather than a question.
"You do as well
I assumed that you spoke Kaonian only due to your very first words when I was under the snow
" Rou gave a small chuckle at how easy it was to talk to him
it felt strange to him
He never kept a conversation in most occasions going for this long
but this Insecticon, of all things, had a nice tone to his voice and both were interested in what each other were talking about which made Rou feel the need to keep in conversation.
"I should have asked you this earlier
but may I know your name
?" the Insecticon asked, looking down at Rou as he walked. "I
" he responded. "Rou
" he mused over
The Insecticon kept looking out of the corner of his visor to Rou; the way he actually cared
he didn't run away from him
it was very different and he felt as though he needed him there with him
"What about you
?" Rou asked suddenly, snapping him out of his thoughts. "I
never received one
" he smiled down at Rou when the silver mech looked up at him with concerned
gorgeous green optics. "It's alright Rou
for us, it's a part of life
" he explained. Rou nodded, but of course had it in his mind now.
Rou finally spotted the city and lead the Insecticon through one of the back alleys once they reached it, thankful that it was winter and that his home was nearby. He placed a servo over the other's helm to duck him down from a window, doing it a couple more times until finally his place was in sight. The Insecticon grabbed Rou's servo when the mech began to go up the small steps to the back door and pulled him back, whimpering quietly.
" he assured him, placing a servo to his cheek. "You stay right here for me
I'll go see if anyone's here and I'll come back for you
Don't make any noise alright
" The Insecticon let Rou's servo go hesitantly and waited as Rou went in, touching his warmed cheek gently.
"ROU!" Rou groaned
not this again. "Blue, get out of my house
now. You're supposed to be with Revel aren't you?" Rou said bluntly. Blue smirked and looked down to the floor, chuckling. "He won't let me out of bed
" Rou rolled his optics. "I didn't need to know that
especially with that mech
Dear Primus! Blue! You tainted my mind with your over-pervious self and that damn bonded of yours with horrible pictures that will forever be seared into my mind. Now shut up. I need not know more. I can't believe I'm saying this, but you know you like what he does to you. Get out of my house. I recommend you to Revel
it's final. Out. Now."
Blue thought it over as he was pushed out the door and even when it was closed and locked behind him. "
I'm gonna go find Rev
" he said to himself. "THANKS ROU!" he yelled through the door, turning around and running to find his bonded. Rou rubbed his optics. "How in the Pit did he get in here anyways
?" he asked himself. He headed out the back door to find the Insecticon there waiting, jumping up and wrapping his arms around him when he saw him.
Rou blushed madly to that warm feeling in his spark again. "I
I missed you
" the Insecticon mewled against his neck. "I
was only gone for
" Rou patted his shoulder and grabbed his servo again when he let him go. "Come on
I need to patch up your wound
" Rou led the other mech into his home and sat him on the couch, placing his scarf on the counter top and uncloaking himself into his normal black color.
The Insecticon looked at him in interest. "Rou
?" Rou smiled and walked over to the quivering Insecticon, placing a servo on his cheek again. "It's me
" he said. The other smiled shyly and nodded, taking Rou's servo in his own and looking over the smaller figure gently when he sat down next to him. "We're not so different
" Rou comforted after seeing the Insecticon look away. He looked back and smiled, seeing as Rou had only four fingers like he did.
may I ask you a question
?" Rou nodded. "Will
will you name me
?" he asked timidly. The black and silver mech ran a servo over his shoulder. "I've never seen an Insecticon with blue armor
but never blue
" Rou touched over scuffs and blemishes and frowned, seeing exactly how nice this Insecticon's paintjob might be if he helped in repairing it
" he said. The Insecticon looked down. "Cobalt's a type of blue
" he explained quietly.
Once again, the Insecticon, now named Cobalt pulled Rou into a warm and soft bear hug, cradling him in his large arms
blushing as Rou leaned into the touch
The mech patted Cobalt's shoulders and pulled back from the hug, the other setting him down on his feet. "Thank you
" he smiled. Rou quietly nodded and walked over to the counter, opening a drawer to find some cloth and bandages to wrap around Cobalt's injury.
Cobalt turned to his side and let Rou dab a small wet rag over dried energon on the wound, so careful with him
"Hold this for me
" Rou handed him the bandages and he held it upright while he wrapped it all around his back and around his torso to secure it. "If it hurts you tell me alright
" Cobalt blushed again, keeping it hidden from Rou, even when the mech leaned in to see what was wrong.
"I'm glad you're not like others Cobalt
very easy to talk to
and you listen
" the mech complimented. "I never knew someone like you would take an Insecticon into your home and care for me the way you just did
I'm glad that fate was with us today Rou
I'm glad fate led you to me
so I could meet you
You have no idea how lucky I feel
" This time Rou curled his arms around Cobalt's neck and blushed again to the nuzzle he earned against his neck.
Rou leaned his head against Cobalt's and closed his optics, tired and ready for sleep. "You seem tired Rou
can I get you to your berth
?" Rou smirked. 'He actually knows when I'm tired
Who the Pit do I hang out with
?' he thought. Rou yawned. "It's right through that door
" he pointed out
"I'll take myself- huh?" Cobalt lifted Rou without complication. "You're so light
" he said with a cute smile.
Rou blushed shyly and held onto Cobalt tightly as the Insecticon took him to his berth room, placing him gently on the bed. Rou kneeled on both knees and looked up at Cobalt. "What about you
?" he asked in concern. Cobalt chuckled. "I sleep on the floor comfortably
" Rou petted his helm. "At least get a blanket
the floor's cold you know
" The blue mech nodded adorably and grabbed a blanket where Rou instructed they were, setting it on the floor and curling up on it.
Rou awoke in the middle of the night to the sound of shaking metal, looking over the edge of his bed to find Cobalt shivering though still asleep. He sighed and got off of his berth, walking to another drawer and pulling out a larger and thicker blanket. He unfolded it and kneeled next to Cobalt, wrapping it around his shoulders and covering his whole body
but he still shivered. Rou thought for a bit
and by all means did what he felt needed to be done
He lifted the blanket and snuggled underneath it, cuddling against the bigger mech until his large arms curled around his waist. Rou sighed and fell right back into recharge again, comfortable with the fact that Cobalt stopped his shivering and that they were both warmer than before. Cobalt smiled
The black and silver mech awoke again in Cobalt's arms, squeezing out of his soft grip easily and walking back to his bed, like always he fixed it properly before exiting his room. Once outside he closed the door behind him and rubbed the back of his head, taking the mask from his face and placing it on the counter. He stretched his arms out and walked to the sink, splashing some water on his face and looking up into the mirror.
He traced his fingers over his forgotten brand
scarring his face with no type of paint that might be capable of removing it or at least cover it. He looked back down and splashed some more water on his face, reaching for a towel, only to notice that Cobalt was the one who handed it to him. Rou kept his surprise hidden from the Insecticon and wiped the water from his face, quickly grabbing his mask and clicking in back on.
you're up early
" Rou said looking up at the big mech. Cobalt smiled and looked down at him. "So are you
" he said with a chuckle. The mechanic walked over to the stairs leading to his garage and stepped down, unlocking the door. "I work at my own pace
" he explained turning on the lights as he walked through. "Mew
?" Rou looked down at smiled. "This is Sparks
he'll be keeping you company here if I have to go somewhere
Rou lifted the little Cyber-Kitten to Cobalt and he looked over him and stroked a large finger over his little head making him purr. The Insecticon took the little kitten in both servos and sat on the floor while Rou moved over to the counter taking his tools and setting it on a small table that he set on the floor. "I'll be able to paint over you're scrapes and cuts, but by all means, your armor is very clean aside what you had just endured. You're back might require more work and I might be able to get you a piece of metal to replace what has been damaged
But for the moment, I don't think I'll be able to get a whole re-do of paint on you
" Cobalt smiled. "Alright
2 weeks later
"I really appreciate what you're doing Rou
" Rou smiled. "No problem Cobalt
what I do, I just wish I could have got to fix your paint a bit sooner
2 weeks is a while even for me
" He patted the mech's blue armor and got up to where his paints were stationed. "Let me just mix up some colors and I'll get started, but for now just relax
Sparks really looks like he likes you
" Cobalt sat cross-legged on the floor, smiling as Sparks crawled all over his shoulders and arms, kneading at his broad chest and settling in his lap to take a nap. Cobalt watched Rou. The black and silver mech sat in a black stool, leaning over the grey and white desk, grabbing blue, black and white paints and working around with them in a small white dish in front of him.
The Insecticon just had to watch
he couldn't stop looking at the kind
He forced himself to look down to the floor nervously when Rou got up and grabbed something from another desk, coming back and then looking down at him. "You alright
" he asked softly. "Yes
yes thank you
" Cobalt responded. Rou placed the part on the counter and came back, kneeling in front of the big mech. "Are you sure
Cobalt looked into those optics
that beautiful jade color graced with a very slight hint of cerulean could have made him want to reach out and touch him, but he told himself not to, turning his head to the side. "Cobalt
" Rou placed his servos to Cobalt's chest as Sparks moved away to lie on the couch. "
Rou you have no idea how eternally grateful I am to you
I've never felt this before
Rou tilted his head innocently. "It
It just amazes me
for someone as
as beautiful as you
to come to the aid of something that is considered to be the monster in little sparklings nightmares
" Cobalt grabbed Rou's arms and pulled him closer. "You're the nicest person I have ever met
my own brethren doesn't even treat me with such care
you need to know that
that I really like you
I know it's only been a couple of weeks since you pulled me from the snow
I know that it's very unusual
but you bring something to my spark that I've never felt
I'm scared to think that you might not feel the same
" he bowed his head.
By this time both mechs' sparks were beating wildly, pounding in their chests when they noticed how close they were to each other. "Cobalt
" Rou's soft voice made him open his optics as his small servo lifted his chin. "Oh Cobalt
you have been the only person that I have met to have an actual conversation with
the only person in this whole world that I have ever sparked a connection with
And the way you were left behind
how could I not help you
?" Rou stroked Cobalt's jaw line.
"Your cute little noises
you don't know how adorable that strikes me
" Cobalt blushed. "I've never been one
to romanticize about something
but something about you
I don't know what it is
your amazing gentleness
maybe it's everything you do
it makes me feel
loved for once
That type of love that I've always wanted to feel with someone
" Rou nuzzled his mask against Cobalt's neck, the bigger pulling him into his lap.
Cobalt gently ran his servos over Rou's back, placing them to the sides of his helm to bring him face to face. He moved in and kissed the area of Rou's mask where lips should be, Rou leaning into the touch, but pushing on the other's chest lightly to pull away. "H
" Rou unclasped the unnoticeable latches at the sides of his mask, pulling it away and moving in straight for the unfinished kiss, not allowing Cobalt to say anything in between.
Cobalt couldn't help but smile at the self protecting action, curling his arms around Rou's thin waist, looking over the black, ridged marks tainting the mech's very pretty face, bringing one servo up at stroke over one gently. Rou mewled and pressed closer to the big mech, fingers taking his small antennae in between his index fingers and thumbs, rubbing softly. The black and silver mech felt the heat emanating off the Insecticon's cheeks and chuckled, blushing himself.
The blue Insecticon was the first to pull back, keeping his lips close to Rou's, his mandibles tinkering with Rou's helm fins, which glowed brighter along with his optics. "Rou
" he muttered, staring into those bright optics, practically tantalized by them.
Rou smiled admiringly up at Cobalt, tracing his thin fingers over his broad chest plate and up to his hot cheeks. "You are the most elegant mech I have ever set optics upon
" He leaned down and gently placed a small kiss on his lovely lips. "Happy Winter Solstice Eve
my darling little Rou
" Rou tilted his head and kissed his friend's lips once again. Cobalt pulled Rou flush against him, standing up and lifting him up off the floor to reach his height.
The black and silver mech groaned as Cobalt pulled back and looked up at the stairs. "There seems to be someone at your front door
" Rou pulled his head back down. "I don't have to answer it
" Cobalt smirked at his lover's deviousness and was pulled back into the kiss, cuddling and kissing each other without an interruption or care in the world.
Blue shivered cold as the Pit, grasping his arms to warm himself up waiting for Rou to open the door. "
Well this sucks
